Dear Friends & Family,
I am raising funds again for the National AIDS Memorial’s team at AIDS Walk San Francisco on Sunday July 14th. As you know, Lanz passed away in March so this year I will walk for both of us. I know that he will be with me every step of the way, although I'll miss his physical presence immensely.
The National AIDS Memorial is a 10-acre national memorial dedicated to all lives touched by AIDS. Lanz and I were married in the Grove in 2013 and we have attended many community celebrations there. I am honored to serve as a board member—my involvement with this organization is deeply rewarding. For over a quarter century the National AIDS Memorial has stood as a marker in history, and will tell the story of AIDS and the AIDS movement to current and future generations, ensuring that we never again repeat the same mistakes.
As a board member, 80% of the funds I raise through AIDS Walk will directly benefit the National AIDS Memorial, and 20% will benefit other HIV/AIDS organizations. Although a national memorial, the Memorial receives no government funding, so this event provides an opportunity to raise the money needed to maintain the 10-acre Memorial, and advance its mission through its core programs.
I am asking you to help me reach my fundraising goal of $15,000 —please click the button below. Your support will not only benefit the National AIDS Memorial, but will mean so much to me personally. Any amount helps!
On behalf of the National AIDS Memorial and thousands of Bay Area individuals living with HIV/AIDS, I thank you for your support!
