Hi friends,
As some of you know, I have been living with HIV for 8 years now. I had a very tough time coping with my diagnosis at first. I assumed that I would be treated differently or shunned by anyone who knew my about my HIV status. Thankfully, what I thought would happen never did. With the support of my family & friends, after meeting others who were also living with HIV, and after learning about the amazing work that local HIV/AIDS organizations do and the services they provide, I was able to let go of the fear and shame that I used to carry around. I'm still happy, healthy, and have some of the most amazing people in my life. I couldn't possibly ask for more.
Well, maybe I can...
I strongly believe in the work that our local HIV/AIDS organizations do, and I want to do my part to make sure they continue to exist for those who need them the most. In order for this to happen, they must continue to have financial support from the community. There is no question that we need to keep these organizations running.
On July 17th I will be walking alongside my friends from the Castro Country Club at the annual AIDS Walk San Francisco and I need some sponsors!
For AIDS Walk SF 2022 I am setting a personal goal of $2,000. WILL YOU HELP ME REACH THIS GOAL? If I can reach it, that would be great! But if I can exceed it, then that would be AMAZING!
The money we raise benefits Project Inform, Project Open Hand, Ward 86, along with more than 40 Bay Area AIDS service organizations.
Thank you for considering a donation!
If you'd also like to participate in the AIDS Walk SF, please join us! The more the merrier! Feel free to reach out to me or anyone on Team Castro Country Club with any questions.
With Love,
Emanuel
