The National AIDS Memorial now along with The AIDS Memorial Quilt will continue to honor the dead while fighting for the living. One of those lives was my best friend Andrew Lowery. Andrew is why I walk and why I am asking for your support.
Andrew was like no one else in so many ways. He never judged and always had such a innocence about his view of people and the world. He was a true artist by all definition with a particular passion for origami and prop building. Andrew was never secretive about being HIV positive which would become another reason for my admiration of him.
I made a panel for Andrew shortly after his passing and am able to see it travel the country sharing his artistry and spirit.
Selfishly I want Andrew back, but I find solace in knowing he is no longer in pain, no longer having trouble breathing and no longer the inability to do what he loved to do most…..his art.
AIDS Walk San Francisco 2020 is being creatively reimagined to take place virtually from the comfort of each of our homes. While we will not be walking together this year, we will be creating an experience in which all of us can participate.
Please help today with a donation so that Andrew's story along with thousands of others will not be forgotten. Thank You!
