Thank you for taking the time to read and for considering donating to the cause!
This will be my 9th year participating in the San Francisco AIDS Walk. Last year with the incredibly generous support of family, friends, coworkers and colleagues I was able to raise $1,900, including donations made mid-walk! What an incredible feeling that was! The Walk is a highlight of every summer for me, as tens of thousands of walkers gather together on a sunny Sunday morning, and we walk a 10K together (about 6.2 miles) through the park, with hundreds of volunteers cheering us on. It is an unparalleled sense of community.
A new tradition is born as this marks my 2nd year as a solo walker, I will no longer be joining a team – experiencing the day and the community on my own was a humbling and wondrous experience, and I look forward to doing it all over again. As always I will be fueled by your amazing support, and I have set my fundraising goal for $1,500. In 2017 donations reached their peak for me at $2,085 and this is the year to top it! I still want to work hard to raise over $1,000 (which qualifies me as a Star Walker, and earns a very appreciated hot breakfast on walk day!) Any support you can offer to help this goal be reached is so incredibly appreciated. Let's blow that goal out of the water!
You can donate any amount, the minimum to donate online is $25. If you prefer to pay by check or cash, or a lower amount (even $1 helps!), let me know and I can provide you with the information and will handle all the processing for you. All donors will receive a thank you letter from the SF AIDS Foundation via email, and a letter to acknowledge the donation for tax deduction purposes via US mail.
After the walk, I send an email to all my donors sharing photos and stories (cuz there’s always stories!) from Walk Day. My donors’ support keeps me focused and keeps me strong! All the money you donate goes directly to fund research and support! So much progress has been made in the last few decades in helping those with HIV and AIDS live long and healthy lives, and so much of it is because of your generosity.
Any questions, let me know – thanks for reading, and thanks for your support!
