This year marks the 40th San Francisco AIDS Walk. When I joined the AIDS Walk in 1994, AIDS was the leading cause of death for all Americans age 25-44. We have made tremendous progress since then, but HIV/AIDS remains a global epidemic.

I am proud to be walking as a member of the UCSF Campus Life Services team. UCSF has been a pioneer in HIV/AIDS research, clinical care, health equity, and global advocacy: ari.ucsf.edu/about-us/history-aids-ucsf
