Why this cause? Well, it intersects with several issues dear to my heart that have become even more urgent under the current US government:

1. Almost 20% of new people with AIDS are youth between 13 and 24, and half of those have NO idea that they have it

2. These young people over-represent Latino, African-American, and LGBTQ+ youth, who are all more minoritized and marginalized since 2025. These youth have less access to good care and experience inequity, whether that is denied or not

3-The walk is in San Francisco, one of the cities in the USA that is holding the torch of tolerance, community values, and support to the marginalized: the city has never needed more support from all of us
