I am walking for my organization, the Alliance Health Project (AHP). I tested postive for HIV at AHP's anonymous test site in the Castro in 1988. The death sentence I received at the time was gracefully dealt to me by a staff member at AHP and it forever forged my life-long love and appreciation for the people and the organization and vowed I would work there one day. Now 36 years later, HIV is no longer a death sentence I am now, miraculously, retiring this month. I remain committed to the care, love, and community offered by the staff at AHP.
