Friends, family, colleagues, thank you for supporting my participation in SF AIDS Walk 2026! Every year, I participate on behalf of AIDS Legal Referral Panel (ALRP), a local non-profit organization that provides free and low-cost legal services to people living with HIV.

ALRP has served HIV+ people in the Bay Area for over 40 years. It paired patients with lawyers to draft emergency wills in the first decade of the HIV pandemic. As people began living longer, surviving, and thriving, their legal needs broadened. ALRP now either directly provides or refers its clients to others for issues including: eviction defense, housing discrimination, employment discrimination, immigration (including asylum applications and removal defense), healthcare/social services discrimination, and more.

When I was in private practice, I took on ALRP clients as my way to give back with my skills and time as a lawyer. Now that I work in government and can't take individual clients, I help ALRP by serving as board treasurer and raising money.
