In 1997, I participated in my first AIDS Walk in New York city. I heard about the event but was blown away by the sense of connection, the sheer number of people in attendance and the passion and fervor displayed by each participant. On July 20th, I plan to walk again. I lose count but I believe it will be my 22nd or 23rd AIDS Walk. While there have been significant medical breakthroughs, there are still funding threats towards eradicating this disease so if you can, please walk, raise awareness, learn about PrEP/U=U, volunteer, and/or donate money to agencies.
