Friends and Family,
This year marks my 26th year participating in AIDS Walk San Francisco as a member of the UCSF team. My journey began in 2001 when my colleague and friend, Red, invited me to join him. As a longtime supporter of the AIDS Walk mission, I gladly accepted, never imagining the impact it would have on my life.
Over the years, I have made it a personal goal to raise more than $1,000 annually and to encourage friends, family, and colleagues to walk alongside me. What started as a single event has become a meaningful tradition and an important way for me to give back.
In August 2006, Red passed away after a rapid decline in health. Living with HIV, he had been reluctant to seek medical care until it was too late. His passing deeply affected me and strengthened my commitment to this cause. I promised him and myself that, for as long as I am able, I would continue helping UCSF build a strong AIDS Walk team and raise funds to support those affected by HIV/AIDS. The following year, I became the CLS Team Captain.
Today, that commitment remains as strong as ever. I hope you will join us as we honor those we have lost, support those living with HIV/AIDS, and help ensure that the progress we have made continues for future generations.
Please help honor Red's memory and his UCSF legacy by donating generously today! https://sf.aidswalk.net/jdok
Thank you in advance!
