Dear Friends & Family,

For the past ten years, I have had the incredible privilege of serving on the Board of Directors of the National AIDS Memorial (affectionately known as "the Grove"). The Grove is our nation's sole federally-designated memorial to all the lives touched by the AIDS epidemic. This is indeed a very special place for me, as well as for all my friends and to all of those whom we have lost.

As you know, every July, San Francisco hosts its annual AIDS Walk in Golden Gate Park and once again I am walking, this time to help raise much-needed funds for the National AIDS Memorial. Since 1987, AIDS Walk San Francisco has raised $90 million for HIV/AIDS organizations in the Bay Area, making it the largest HIV/AIDS fundraising event in northern California!

SO... I need your help!

As this year marks my decade of serving on the Grove Board, I want to mark this milestone in a very special manner.

I want to see if I can beat all my goals from the previous years and raise $5,000 this year!

In order to make this goal real I am relying on my fiends and family to help me help the Grove.

I walk because I care, I walk because I can and I walk because the funds raised from AIDS Walk 2018 will directly benefit the work of the National AIDS Memorial.

Although a national memorial, the Grove receives no federal or governmental funding. We rely upon the generosity of our community and our supporters and events such as AIDS Walk to raise much-needed funding for the Memorial's ongoing maintenance and programs (in addition to other beneficiary organizations), while sending a signal of support in the ongoing fight against HIV/AIDS.

The National AIDS Memorial is a 10-acre national memorial dedicated to all lives touched by AIDS. I am honored to serve as board member—my involvement with this organization is deeply rewarding. For over a quarter century the Grove has stood as a marker in history, and will tell the story of AIDS to future generations ensuring that we will NEVER again repeat the same mistakes.

As a board member, a majority of the funds I raise through AIDS Walk this year will directly benefit the National AIDS Memorial, and the rest will benefit other worthy HIV/AIDS organizations.

I am asking you to help me reach my fundraising goal of $5,000. Your support will not only benefit the National AIDS Memorial, but will mean so much to me personally. Any amount helps! On behalf of the National AIDS Memorial and thousands of Bay Area individuals living with HIV/AIDS, I thank you for your support!

PLEASE give what you can.

Thank you in advance for your love, your support and your contribution!
