If you've been following my fitness journey, I want to say that a goal I have is to complete all 5k of the walk for AIDSWalk 2025 with my AIDS Walk San Francisco team SFGoth AIDSWalk 2025! It's been eight years since I last successfully completed the ENTIRE track, I usually have to get a ride back halfway or 2/3rds of the way.

If you want to support my walk for the AMAZING cause of AIDSWalk please donate and help me reach and exceed my campaign goal of $500.

AIDS Walk San Francisco recognizes that no one organization can meet all the needs of people living with HIV/AIDS. That is why the event emphasizes not one voice, but many voices; not just services in one city; but rather the Bay Area wide effort to bring this epidemic to an end.

Team SF Goth was born in 1999 as a way for the SF Goth community to prove the news media wrong in having branded all black-clad as being ‘trenchcoat mafia’ murderers in the wake of the Columbine High School massacre. In fact, goths all over the world made a show of community service in an attempt to be seen as just as charitable, caring, and giving as anyone else who is not gothic.

Some of Team SF Goth’s members - including myself - have lost dear ones to the AIDS pandemic, so for many team members over the years, being part of Team SF Goth has been a personal journey as well as a community service.

As an older member of Gen X, the AIDS pandemic reached its height when I was in junior high, high school, and did not begin to wane until I was in my mid to late 20s. I lost a high school friend, Robert B., and one of my earliest San Francisco friends on the scene, Frankie Purple of Glitter Doll, to AIDS. In addition, several people close to me have lived or are still living with HIV today.
